About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration is seeking qualified contractors for an ADA door modification project at the White City VA Medical Center in Oregon. The project involves retrofitting three doorways in Building 209 to ensure Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance by converting existing solid wood doors into automatic, low-energy power-operated doors with ADA-compliant activation buttons. Specific locations include a single first-floor wood door providing access to the north wing and two sets of opposing double doors on the second floor. Contractors are encouraged to reuse existing components where feasible and should have relevant experience in facilities modification and accessibility improvements. While detailed evaluation criteria are not yet published, the pre-solicitation notice suggests that contractors will be assessed on their ability to meet ADA requirements and modify the specified doorways effectively.
The contract is specifically set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) contractors, falling under NAICS code 561210 for Facilities Support Services and PSC code Y1DZ for Hospital Building Construction. The project will be located at 8495 Crater Lake Hwy in White City, Oregon, with the full solicitation documents expected to be released around April 18, 2025. Interested contractors are advised to contact Contract Specialist Alan Perez at Alan.Perez@va.gov for additional information. While specific award values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the scope involves modifications to three distinct doorways across two floors of the medical center. Contractors should prepare their qualifications and capabilities for potential submission when the full solicitation is released.
