About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 22 has issued a Limited / Sole Source Justification Notice for wheelchair and hired car transportation services for VA healthcare facilities in San Diego and surrounding counties. One Life Transportation LLC, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business, will be awarded a 4-month bridge contract valued at $703,964.00, running from May 29, 2025 to September 30, 2025. The contract necessitates providing non-emergency transportation services 24/7, including weekends and holidays, to support veterans traveling to and from medical appointments across San Diego, Riverside, Imperial, Orange, and Los Angeles counties. The sole-source award is driven by ongoing protests and legal challenges to previous competitive contract awards, requiring a short-term solution to ensure continuous transportation services. The VA intends to resume full and open competition after this bridge contract expires, with the current award not establishing a recurring sole-source arrangement. The transportation services will include wheelchair transport and hired car services, with medical companion services available around the clock to meet veterans' healthcare transportation needs.
Notice text

The contactor shall make these services available to the VA as needed, 24 hours a day, seven days a week (24/7), including weekends and holidays.
