About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure one (1) valve vent assembly under NSN 7H-4820-016642217. This procurement falls under the nonpowered valves category and represents a sole source acquisition under FAR 6.302-1 authority, as the government does not own the technical data packages or rights needed to competitively source this specialized component. The agency has determined it would be uneconomical to purchase the data rights or reverse engineer the part, necessitating negotiations with only one qualified source. Interested parties may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements to demonstrate their ability to fulfill this requirement, though this notice is not a formal request for competitive proposals. The response deadline is September 19, 2025, providing potential contractors a 16-day window from the posting date of September 3, 2025.
This opportunity does not include any set-aside designations and will be competed among all responsible sources that can demonstrate capability. The contract specifies delivery terms as FOB Origin for the single unit required, though no specific award values or budget ranges are disclosed in the notice. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the documentation. The procurement timeline allows for a 45-day response period for capability demonstrations, though this may be reduced to 30 days if the award is issued under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement. The technical documentation and specifications can be accessed through the DoD Single Stock Point or ASSIST-Online platform for interested parties seeking additional procurement details.
