About this opportunity
The Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility intends to award a sole-source contract to Thermwood Corporation for on-site preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and adjustments on two Thermwood 5-Axis Routers (Unit 1: C673-464 and Unit 2: C67S-583). The contract scope includes comprehensive maintenance services such as performing alignments on Axis 4 and 5, checking bearings and rails for damage, tuning servomotor and amps, squaring and leveling axes, checking lash and repeatability, greasing and oiling machine points, and ensuring electronic components function properly. The solicitation is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation 13.106-1(b)(1) as only Thermwood Corporation authorizes its service technicians to perform maintenance on its equipment, making it the sole qualified source. Personnel must be U.S. citizens with appropriate security clearances and GREEN Security Access Control Badges obtained three weeks prior to facility entry. The government will evaluate capability statements based on organizational and staff capability to perform the specific maintenance requirements, and interested parties must submit tailored responses by 1400 HST on August 8, 2025.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designation and is specifically targeted toward Thermwood Corporation as the intended awardee due to their exclusive authorization to service their own equipment. The contract involves annual preventative maintenance services for two industrial routers located within the Controlled Industrial Area of the Pearl Harbor facility. Work must be performed during normal business hours (0630-1500, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays) by qualified, trained personnel adhering to current industry standards and OEM specifications. The contractor must provide a Quality Control Plan and submit preventative maintenance reports within five business days of completion for each maintenance cycle. While no specific contract value is mentioned in the notice, the work involves sophisticated 5-axis routing equipment requiring specialized technical expertise and strict adherence to security protocols given the sensitive military facility location.
