About this opportunity
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has published a Special Notice announcing its intent to negotiate a sole source, firm-fixed-price contract with SPECTRO Analytical Instruments Inc. for preventative maintenance services of their SPECTRLAB Optical Emission Spectrometer instruments. The contract will be for the Laboratory Division to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance, instrument upgrades, and support critical to meeting the FBI's mission. SPECTRO Analytical Instruments is identified as the sole service provider for these specific instruments, which justifies the sole source approach. The opportunity is being distributed exclusively through the System for Awards Management (SAM.gov) website and falls under the North American Classification System Code 334516 for Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing.
Contractors interested in this opportunity must submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation directly to Contracting Officer Adelle Bolton via email by 5:00 PM EST on April 8, 2025. All submissions must be accompanied by an authorized reseller of SPECTRO preventative maintenance services. While this is not a competitive quotation request, the FBI will consider all submissions to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Vendors must be registered in SAM.gov and ensure their information is current, including Tax Identification Number (TIN), Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) details, Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), addresses, and contact information. The FBI emphasizes that responses sent through means other than email to albolton@fbi.gov will not be considered, and the government retains discretion in determining whether to compete the proposed contract based on received responses.
