About this opportunity

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, operating under the Department of Energy, is seeking a comprehensive parking management software solution through Request for Information (RFI) LBNLDT-002. The procurement aims to implement a system that provides real-time sitewide parking availability, advanced reservation capabilities, and check-in/check-out functionality across LBNL's campus, which must be compatible with smartphones and tablets. The solution should include installation of technology in individual parking spaces that displays availability and integrates with the overall system, with the project beginning as a pilot program in select spaces and lots before potential expansion. Interested vendors must complete and return two attached forms including a comprehensive company information form and a representation and certification form. The response deadline for this RFI is September 17, 2025, with an anticipated Request for Proposal (RFP) issuance planned for January 2026.

This opportunity carries no set-aside designation and is open to all qualified contractors. The project has an estimated value of $500,000 and involves managing parking across more than 90 parking lots and areas throughout the LBNL campus, with individual lots ranging from 0 to 137 spaces per designated area. The comprehensive parking inventory includes lots designated alphabetically from A through Z, each associated with specific buildings or location references across the laboratory complex. The procurement falls under NAICS code 513210 (Software Publishers) and PSC category DA10 (IT and Telecom - Business Application/Application Development Software as a Service), indicating the technical nature of the software solution being sought. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the documentation.
