The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Rocky Mountain Scientific Instrument Maintenance for Annual service agreement for the following lab equipment: Avanti-J-20XPI Centrifuge, Serial Number: JX103H02, Avanti J-26XPI Centrifuge Serial Numbers: JXT05J09, JXT05L17, JXT08G15, JXT10G03, DU-640 Spectrophotometer, Serial Number 4316443, GS-6R Table Top centrifuge, Serial Number NGB97C02, Optima L-100XP Ultracentrifuge, Serial Number LX P06H30, Optima L-90K Ultracentrifuge Serial Numbers: COL08G17 and COL01J21. RMSIMS' engineers provide immediate on-site technical service for any advanced issues that may be detected and offer remote diagnostics service to aid in real-time monitoring of our equipment. RMSIMS has a fully equipped local repair shop ~30 miles away from Fort Collins, CO that allows technicians to repair equipment in a timely fashion rather than purchasing expensive new equipment, leading to significant time and cost savings. RMSIMS is a local company to our location in Fort Collins, CO, and eliminates the need for a non-local service company to travel to Fort Collins to service our equipment. This occurred during a previous year when a service company, based out of Atlanta, traveled to Fort Collins to service our CEQ8000 sequencer, and then needed to contract RMSIMS to finish the highly specialized repairs. Utilizing RMSIMS from the start will eliminate the non-local "middle man" company, again leading to significant time and cost savings. RMSIMS is a small business with a female owner.. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at kpy3@cdc.gov by 1:00 p.m. 15 March 2019.
