About this opportunity

This Special Notice announces the National Science Foundation's intent to award a sole source contract to the National Academy of Sciences. The contract is for conducting a study mandated by the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 to review and identify gaps in research literature, present specified findings, identify barriers to implementing innovations, and make recommendations to organizations and stakeholders regarding PreK-12 STEM education.

The contract will be awarded on January 31, 2023 for a period of twenty-four months. Interested sources have fifteen calendar days to respond to be considered for the requirement, though the decision to open competition remains at the Government's discretion. The notice provides a point of contact for any responses. The study aims to advance PreK-12 STEM education by reviewing the current research landscape, identifying challenges, and recommending solutions to organizations and stakeholders. This will help inform policies and practices to strengthen STEM education nationwide.
