About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is seeking to procure the KC4-V250 High Volume Universal Crimper through a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The solicitation, identified by RFQ number N5005425Q0222, requires new parts and will be processed as a Brand Name acquisition. Qualified sources are being requested to provide the specific crimping equipment as detailed in the attached Statement of Work. The solicitation will be posted on the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) and the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), with responses due by February 7, 2025. This acquisition follows Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 guidelines and incorporates provisions and clauses through FAC 2025-03 and DFARS Change notice 20241218.

The contract opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, focusing on the Cutting Tool and Machine Tool Accessory Manufacturing category (NAICS 333515). The Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) is the specific command requesting the equipment, with a clear mandate that all parts must be new and no refurbished or used parts will be accepted. While specific award value details are not provided in the solicitation, the procurement is being conducted through simplified acquisition procedures, which typically indicates a smaller-scale procurement. The solicitation requires a precise match to the brand name specifications, as documented in the attached Brand Name Justification, suggesting very specific technical requirements for the universal crimper. Potential vendors should carefully review the attached Statement of Work and Brand Name Justification to ensure full compliance with the Navy's precise equipment needs.
