Update #2 · Latest ·

The U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) requires a service agreement for two brand-specific SAM freezers. The specific service package will include: on-site, email, and telephone support; software and firmware updates, replacement parts and upgrades; and preventative maintenance for a 12-month period and four 12-month option periods. USAMRIID currently uses the SAM freezers manufactured by Hamilton Storage Technologies, Inc. The initial service package was purchased at the same time as the SAM freezers, which ended on 25 January 2015. Therefore, USAMRIID is currently in need of a new service agreement. As Hamilton Storage Technologies, Inc. does not collaborate with any third party service provider for the SAM freezers, except in rare instances when a certified refrigeration specialist is immediately needed, this award was accomplished on a sole source basis.

Update #1 ·

This notice announces the intent by the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) in support of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) to negotiate solely (as prescribed in FAR 13.106(b)(1)(i)) with Hamilton-Storage Technologies, Inc., 3 Forge Parkway, Franklin, MA, 02038, for the award of a firm-fixed price commercial Purchase Order for a Gold Service Plan for two (2) previously purchased robotic Sample Access Manager (SAM) freezers manufactured by Hamilton Storage Technologies, Inc.

USAMRIID requires the purchase of The Gold Service Plan (PIN# 14419) for a base of 12 months plus an additional four (4) 12 month option periods. As stated above, USAMRIID is currently using two (2) SAM freezers that were purchased on 25 September 2008 and the previously purchase service plan has since expired. Therefore, USAMRIID is currently in need of a new service agreement with the manufacturer to provide on-site, email, and telephone support; software and firmware updates, replacement parts and upgrades; and preventative maintenance. In order to preserve the integrity of these unique robotic SAM freezers, and to prevent the warranty being void, only specially trained staff from Hamilton Storage Technologies, Inc., are authorized to provide any and all service for these brand name freezers.

The Gold Service Plan for both SAM freezers will fulfill the need at USAMRIID. The draft Performance Work Statement is attached to this Notice and summarizes the Government's requirement.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 811310 and the size standard is $7.5 Million.
