About this opportunity
NASA's Shared Services Center issued a sole-source justification notice on July 28, 2026, announcing its intent to award a contract to Bruker Scientific LLC for an INVENIO-X Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer with MultiTect unit under FAR 12.102(a), with capability statements due by 8:30 p.m. Central Standard Time on July 31, 2026. The agency determined that Bruker Scientific is the sole provider of this instrument. NASA will procure the spectrometer as a commercial item for delivery to Building 34, Room C155 (Hot Environments Lab) at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center within 12 weeks of contract award. The instrument will support mid-infrared spectroscopic research of solids, liquids, and gases at various temperatures and pressures to simulate planetary environments, including studies of atmospheric constituents in exoplanets and Venus. The spectrometer configuration includes a MIR-KBr beamsplitter, room temperature DLaTGS detector on a multi-detector unit upgradeable to five automated detectors, high-power IR source, aperture and validation wheels, OPUS/IR software, and a polymer spectral library. Interested organizations may submit written capability statements to Cody Guidry, Procurement Specialist II, at Cody.d.guidry@nasa.gov to request competitive consideration; the government reserves the right to conduct full and open competition based on responses received.
