About this opportunity

The Department of State is seeking a contractor to install a Cummins natural gas generator and automatic transfer switch at the U.S. Consul General's residence in Toronto, Canada. The project involves removing an existing Tesla Powerwall solar system, installing government-furnished generator equipment, and modifying electrical and natural gas systems while adhering to multiple international and Canadian electrical codes. Contractors must have minimum 10-year experience in relevant trades, be factory-certified for generator installation, be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM), and provide comprehensive documentation including factory-authorized commissioning. The contract will be awarded to the lowest-priced, technically acceptable, responsible quoter without discussions based on initial proposals. This solicitation does not utilize any set-aside designation and is open to all qualified contractors. The anticipated contract value ranges between CAD $150,000 to $210,000, with work to be completed within 21 calendar days of notice to proceed. The installation will take place at the U.S. Consul General's residence in the Forest Hill area of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with the generator positioned at the back of the garage. Recent vendor questions addressed during the site visit clarified that the basement room walls are approximately 12 inches thick and that contractors will be responsible for removing existing Tesla Walls and Solar Panel equipment. All quotations must be submitted electronically in PDF format not exceeding 130MB to the Toronto Procurement office, with required documentation including Standard Form 1442, pricing sections, representations and certifications, and proof of SAM registration.
