About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is procuring explosion-proof electric HEPA vacuums through a five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. The procurement covers two vacuum models with specific technical requirements: Model 1 featuring 1.8-2.2 horsepower motors generating 150-165 cubic feet per minute, and Model 2 with 4.8-5.2 horsepower motors generating 220-230 cubic feet per minute, both certified for Class 1 Division 1 Group D environments and operating on 460-volt 3-phase power. The contract also includes various accessories such as aluminum and stainless steel connective components, suction hoses of different lengths, bumpers, and conductive polyliners. Evaluation will be based on technical acceptability and lowest total evaluated price, with vendors required to maintain registration in the System for Award Management (SAM). The deadline for submitting questions is September 30, 2025, at 1300 CST, with proposals due October 3, 2025.
This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, with the main solicitation document indicating it is specifically reserved for Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) concerns. A previous one-time purchase was recently awarded on August 14, 2025, to an undisclosed vendor, but this new solicitation establishes a separate multi-year contract vehicle. The contract has ordering periods spanning from November 2025 to October 2030, with a minimum order requirement of three vacuums and maximum quantities capped at 17 total vacuum units across all ordering periods. The estimated quantities vary across base year and subsequent ordering periods, with specific allocations for each component ranging from 0 to 4 units per item. Performance will take place at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, supporting the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center's operations.

Q&As:
-
I came across the bid you issued which is due by 10/3/25. Would you be able to send me the award notification for the current contract in place? I am trying to locate a vendor who could meet the exact specifications you have outlined, however we are having trouble locating anyone who currently manufactures vacuums as you specified.

I was able to determine the vendor was just granted the award on 8-14-25. There is a new solicitation out FA8125-25-Q-0093 due by Oct 3, 2025, I'm confused why there would be a new solicitation issued, when it was just awarded 1 month ago. Could you let me know the background?
-
The award last month was just for a one-time buy. The solicitation just posted (FA8125-25-Q-0093) is for a 5-year IDIQ contract.
