About this opportunity
The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), part of the Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health, is seeking innovative research proposals for the PROactive Solutions for Prolonging Resilience (PROSPR) program. This five-year initiative aims to develop interventions that can extend human healthspan by 20 years through three technical areas: developing an intrinsic capacity (IC) score to predict long-term health outcomes, repurposing FDA-approved interventions, and creating second-generation interventions to prevent health decline. Proposals will be evaluated based on scientific and technical merit, proposer capabilities, and budget analysis, with a focus on developing accessible, affordable technologies targeting individuals aged 35-75. Key submission dates include a Solution Summary due on April 25, 2025, and full proposals due by June 5, 2025. The program emphasizes collaboration across research teams, comprehensive data sharing, and a commitment to representing diverse populations.
The solicitation is not set aside for any specific business category and is open to universities, non-profit organizations, small businesses, and other eligible entities. ARPA-H anticipates awarding multiple Other Transaction (OT) Agreements with a potential total funding in the millions of dollars, structured across up to five phases of approximately 12 months each. The place of performance is the United States, with an ultimate goal of developing in-home health assessment technologies that cost approximately $100 per consumer assessment. The program targets creating interventions that can be commercialized and will prioritize proposals that comprehensively address health inequalities and provide innovative approaches to detecting early health changes. Successful performers will be expected to develop technologies that can improve wellness in relatively healthy individuals and transform geriatric medicine into a proactive, personalized preventive care model.
