About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure three display units for television equipment through repair or modification services under NSN 7R-5821-015313471-XC. This flight-critical item requires engineering source approval by the design control activity, and only previously government-approved sources possess the necessary unique design capabilities, engineering skills, and manufacturing/repair knowledge essential for maintaining quality standards. The procurement is being conducted under FAR 6.302-1 as a sole source acquisition, though the government will consider proposals from all responsible sources who can demonstrate their capability to meet qualification requirements. Companies not currently approved must submit detailed information per NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support source approval brochures along with their proposals, and failure to provide all required documentation will result in exclusion from award consideration. The solicitation was posted on August 2, 2025, with a response deadline of September 17, 2025, allowing 45 days for interested parties to submit capability statements or proposals.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to full and open competition, though practical limitations exist due to the specialized nature and approval requirements of the equipment. The contract specifies delivery FOB origin for three units, with technical data package version 002 governing the specifications. No specific contract value or budget range is disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, and no current contractors or incumbents are explicitly named, though the notice indicates that only previously approved sources have been solicited initially. The timeframe for new source approval typically exceeds the government's delivery requirements, which may result in awards proceeding based on fleet support needs even if new source evaluations are pending. The procurement is subject to various trade agreement provisions including Free Trade Agreements and World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement requirements.
