This project is for improvements to 0.87 miles of County Road 5 and 0.12 miles of County Road 3 located in Rio Blanco County, Colorado.


This project will consist of roadway widening for construction of turn lanes at the intersection of Rio Blanco County Roads 5 and 3 and associated approach roads.


Type of Construction: Asphalt milling, grading, drainage, subexcavation, mechanically stabilized earth walls, aggregate base, asphalt paving, erosion control, signing and striping, and temporary traffic control.


This project consists of widening and reconstruction 0.87 miles of County Road 5 and 0.12 miles of County Road 3;  Significant Items Include 6,884 LF of silt fence; removal of 6,739 lnft of fence; removal of 1,719 lnft of guardrail; 2,000 CY of subexcavation; 76,082 CY of embankment; 3,536 CY of structure backfill; 269 cuyd of riprap; 7,258 sqft of Mechanically Stabilized Earth Wall; 22,320 tons of Aggregate Base Course;  10,070 tons of superpave asphalt paving;  14,593 sqyd of pavement milling;  547 LF of pipe culvert placement; 99 lnft of 10' rise 10' span reinforced concrete box culvert; 71 CY of minor concrete; 650 lnft of asphalt curb2,285 LF of guardrail;  6,405 LF of Fence; 12 acres of seeding and mulching; 7,845 LF of rolled erosion control products; 115 gallons of epoxy pavement markings; 1,800 LF of concrete barrier;  3000 flagger hours;  installation of lighting and electrical systems.


It is anticipated this project will be advertised in February, 2015 with construction beginning in April 2015 and extending through October 2015.


The contracting range for this project is between $4.5 million and $5.5 million.
