The United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service is seeking to replace two aging 56-ton York chiller units at the Foreign Disease-Weed Science Research Unit in Fort Detrick, Maryland through a firm fixed-price construction contract. The chillers service multiple water-cooled plant growth chambers used for research. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS) issues this Request for Quotes (RFQ) for a firm fixed-price construction contract to: The Foreign Disease-Weed Science Research Unit (FDWSRU) conducts research on emerging plant pathogens in Biosafety Level (BSL)-3 and BSL-2 laboratories and requires a functioning dual chiller system that meets specific requirements to service multiple water-cooled plant growth chambers to support research needs.  These plant growth chambers are serviced by two existing 56-ton York chiller units external to the building, one of which has met its end of service date and is no longer functioning.


The anticipated requirement is issued under RFP 12305B22Q0115.   

The solicitation document, with the incorporated clauses and provisions, is issued in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 13, 15 and 36 and will be incorporated in the awarded firm-fixed price order.  Interested vendors should reference the solicitation documents for all terms and conditions.  No paper solicitation will be available.

All technical evaluation factors other than cost or price, when combined, are significantly less important than cost or price.
