About this opportunity

U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), acting through Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC), issued a notice of intent to sole-source a single-award IDIQ contract to Useful Fiction LLC for narrative wargaming and Fictional Intelligence (FICINT) workshop services, with a July 31, 2026 deadline for industry comments on the sole-source justification. The contract covers training, mentoring, and development of FICINT vignettes supporting MARSOF 2030 Vision, with a one-year base period, four one-year option periods, and a total estimated ceiling of $9 million. MARSOC asserts that Useful Fiction LLC possesses the only known combination of demonstrated experience in crafting strategically relevant fictional narratives for military audiences, deep understanding of the MARSOF operating environment, and proven track record of influencing defense policy through narrative-based communication. The procurement is conducted under 41 U.S.C. 1901 and FAR 12.102(b) using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Any responsible source believing it can meet the Government's needs may submit comments by the July 31 deadline; no solicitation document is currently available.
