About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is procuring a valve cap through a Request for Quote solicitation posted on February 4, 2026, with a response deadline of March 4, 2026. This acquisition falls under NAICS Category 336413 (Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing) and PSC Category 2030 (Deck Machinery). The solicitation will be conducted through the Federal Business Opportunities website, allowing offerors to respond electronically via email. While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed in this pre-solicitation notice, interested parties should prepare documentation demonstrating their capability to manufacture or supply quality valve caps meeting the government's specifications. The complete solicitation package will be available through the GPE (Government Point of Entry), and all interested vendors are encouraged to monitor that platform for the formal solicitation release and any additional technical requirements.
This acquisition is not subject to any set-aside designations, meaning it is open to all qualified contractors regardless of business size or classification. The contract value is expected to remain below the Simplified Acquisition Threshold, which is why a full synopsis has been waived in accordance with FAR Part 5.202(a)(13). No incumbent contractor information or specific award value range is provided in this pre-solicitation notice. Given the anticipated dollar amount and streamlined procurement process, vendors should be prepared to submit competitive quotes quickly once the formal solicitation is released, as acquisitions of this type typically move rapidly through the award process.
Notice text
Exception is taken to this requirement FD2030-25-00950 of the synopsis publicizing IAW with FAR part 5.202(a)(13) exceptions:
(i) Is for an amount not expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold
(ii) Will be made through a means that provides access to the notice of proposed contract
action through the GPE.
(iii) Permits the public to respond to the solicitation electronically.
Electronic commerce is defined at 41 USC sec. 426 as electronic techniques for accomplishing business transactions, including electronic mail. Thus, provided the complete solicitation package is available through the GPE and offerors are permitted to respond electronically (i.e., email in this case), the proposed contract action would not need to be synopsized.
Therefore, synopsis is hereby waived as this acquisition is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition Threshold. A request for quote solicitation will be made through Federal Business Opportunities website and offerors will be able to respond electronically.
