About this opportunity
The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center is seeking technical representative services to build, install, and test shaft seals for the CGC Bernard Webber through a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items. The procurement involves providing specialized technical expertise to clean, inspect, and renew two propulsion shaft seal components, with the government furnishing the seal service kits as government-furnished equipment. Vendors must comply with RAPIDGate security requirements, OSHA shipyard standards, and various environmental protection regulations while performing the work. The solicitation will be awarded on a best value basis using FAR 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, with evaluation criteria focusing on meeting technical requirements, adherence to deadlines, and price competitiveness. All quotes must be submitted via email to Shellby Hammond by July 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM Eastern, with the solicitation number 2125405Y6175K96010 included in the subject line.
This opportunity has no set-aside designation and is open to all responsible sources, with no incumbent contractors identified in the documentation. While no specific contract value is disclosed, the Coast Guard intends to award a firm fixed-price purchase order with Net 30 payment terms, requiring vendors to secure their own funding until delivery and acceptance by the government. The work involves two distinct phases: an initial visit scheduled for approximately July 15, 2025, to build out the seals, followed by a return visit on a to-be-determined schedule for installation and testing. Performance will take place at the U.S. Coast Guard Yard located at 2401 Hawkins Point Road in Baltimore, Maryland, where the government will provide utilities, material handling services, and emergency support. All invoicing must be processed through the IPP system at www.ipp.gov, and contractors may request site visits by contacting Carl Weiland to schedule appointments for proper bid preparation.
