The work associated with B2133, Repair Deficient HVAC, 2nd Deck at NAS Patuxent River, Maryland.
The HVAC system in Hangar 2133 is original to the facility (1990) and made up of several individual systems. It is not only undersized and inefficient, but also well past its
useful life.
The systems cannot handle the current loading of the building, causing the air to be warm (80 degrees) and humid. In the past, several service calls were made about addressing the HVAC issues, but it was noted that the system required replacement, and that small fixes were ineffective.
The data rooms (POP rooms) have a high heat load, and are not supported by the current systems. Switches routinely fail in the POP rooms due to the high heat load.
The solicitation will be posted on/around 5 September 2017.
