About this opportunity
The Department of State seeks awning canvas replacement services at the U.S. Embassy Caracas compound, with quotations due September 14, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. local time. Canvas materials must be 100% polypropylene (not vinyl), fire-retardant and anti-bacterial, with white canvas for exterior areas and green for interior zones. All removed metal sections receive anti-corrosion coating using zinc chromate primer. Major welding must be performed offsite to mitigate fire risks.

Performance must commence within 10 days of Notice to Proceed and be completed within 90 calendar days. Offerors must provide Defense Base Act insurance, a 20% performance/payment bond acceptable as a "Fianza" from institutions registered at Sudeban and Sudeaseg, proof of SAM registration, all required local licenses, and construction experience with references. Contractor personnel must be English-speaking where designated as Site Supervisor, have proven experience in awning, canvas canopy, and rain-gutter installation, and remain escorted by designated Embassy staff at all times. Award will be made to the lowest-priced, acceptable, responsible offeror based on initial proposals without discussions, though discussions may occur with companies in the competitive range if necessary.
