Eglin Air Force Base is seeking proposals for an Augmented Reality Utility Locates System through solicitation FA2487-20-S-C031. The solicitation requests innovative solutions to utilize augmented reality technologies to map and display utility data to assist personnel in locating underground infrastructure at Eglin and Hurlburt Field. Proposals will be evaluated based on technical approach and importance to the agency's programs, with award made to the highest rated small business offeror. Proposals are due by August 31, 2020.

The solicitation is set aside for small businesses under NAICS 511210 with place of performance at Eglin AFB, Florida. Solutions proposed under this solicitation must price at or below $350,000 and integrate Eglin's existing geospatial and utility data into hardware devices capable of withstanding indoor and outdoor use, alongside appropriate training. Offerors must be registered in SAM.gov as a qualified small business to be eligible for consideration.

Eglin Air Force Base (AFB), near Fort Walton Beach, FL, is conducting a commercial solutions opening (CSO) authorized by section 879 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 (Pub. L. 114-328).  Under a CSO, the Air Force Test Center may competitively award proposals received in response to a general solicitation, similar to a broad agency announcement, to acquire innovative commercial items, technologies, and services, based on a review of proposals by scientific, technological, or other subject-matter expert peers within the Air Force Test Center.  Under this CSO, all items, technologies, and services shall be treated as commercial items.

The Air Force Test Center intends to obtain "innovative" solutions or potential new capabilities that fulfill requirements, close capability gaps, or provide potential technology advancements. Solutions may include existing technologies or procedures, not currently in use by the Air Force Test Center, that would enhance or streamline Air Force Test Center mission capabilities. "Innovative" is defined as any technology, process or method that is new as of the date of submission of a proposal.  It also includes any new application of an existing technology, process, or method.  This CSO contains one defined area of interest whose topic requirements are equivalent to the solicitation under FA2487-20-S-C015.  Solicitation FA2487-20-S-C015 has been rescinded.
