About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is soliciting proposals for a Control Assembly component (NSN 1680-012884940) for the F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft. This is a Request for Proposal for an Indefinite Quantity Contract with a 60-month ordering period and an estimated annual quantity of 10 units during the base period. The procurement requires compliance with export control regulations and involves a Critical Application Item designated as an Air Force Critical Safety Item, necessitating configuration control and Government First Article Test requirements. Offerors must submit completed solicitation copies via fax to (804) 279-4165, with the full solicitation available through the DLA Internet Bid Board System (DIBBS) at https://dibbs.bsm.dla.mil/. The proposal deadline is March 16, 2026, providing interested contractors approximately six weeks from the January 28, 2026 posting date to prepare and submit their offers.
This procurement is designated as a 100% Small Business Set Aside following source exclusions, limiting competition to small business entities. Current sources of supply identified in the solicitation include Mason Electric Co., Lockheed Martin Corporation, Aerospace & Commercial Technologies, and Aerometals, Inc., all offering part number 16P1801-867. The total delivery schedule spans 725 days of production across the five-year contract period, with FOB Destination and inspection/acceptance at origin. While the specific contract value is not disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, the relatively modest estimated annual quantity of 10 units and the specialized nature of aircraft components for the F-16 platform suggest this will be a lower-volume, specialized manufacturing contract. Production Lot Test requirements do not apply to this NSN, streamlining quality assurance procedures for potential contractors.
