About this opportunity

This Special Notice from the Drug Enforcement Administration announces their intent to award a firm-fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to Visual Engineering Technologies Limited for replacement cameras and radio units. The equipment must be compatible with McAllen's ACRx point-to-multipoint and tactical mesh communication systems, and the proprietary waveforms required for interoperability are only available in VEE products. Interested vendors may submit capability statements by February 8, 2024 to be considered for the award, though the agency retains sole discretion over opening the requirement to competition. The North American Industry Classification System code for this requirement is 334111.

The purpose of this Special Notice is to notify vendors of the DEA's planned noncompetitive procurement from VEE due to the lack of alternate sources for the required equipment. Interested contractors have until February 10, 2024 to submit capability statements for consideration, though the agency is not required to open the requirement to competition. The procurement will follow Simplified Acquisition Procedures under the Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 13. Eligible contractors must demonstrate their ability to meet the DEA's requirements for replacement cameras and radios compatible with the specified communication systems.
