About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 20 is procuring optometry refractor systems and related equipment for the Portland and Boise VA Medical Centers. The solicitation requires Marco brand or equivalent optometry equipment including two Marco TRS-6100 Automated Refraction Systems with Membox, two 6060R LCD Acuity Chart Systems with Remote, two Marco LM-1800PD Automated Lensmeter units, and associated cables and accessories. This is a brand name or equal procurement where vendors may submit comparable products that meet the specified requirements but do not need to exactly match the Marco specifications. The solicitation was originally issued on July 17, 2025, with quotes initially due on July 24, 2025, but has been amended to extend the deadline to July 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM Pacific Time. Quotes must be submitted via email to darien.justice@va.gov, and vendors are required to thoroughly review submission requirements detailed in the solicitation documents.

This procurement is designated as a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 339112 (Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing) with a size standard of 1,000 employees. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are specifically identified in the solicitation materials. While no specific contract value or budget range is disclosed in the available documents, the procurement involves multiple units of specialized optometry equipment for two major VA medical facilities. Delivery is required within 30 days after receipt of order, indicating an expedited timeline for implementation. The place of performance is listed as Rickreall, Oregon, though the equipment will serve both the Portland and Boise VA Medical Centers, with the contracting office located in Vancouver, Washington.
