This is a brand name only requirement that can provide the ability to maintain standardization of critical items associated with the VAMC s surgical procedures.
Awarding to a different manufacturer would cause delays, confusion, or damage to the equipment, as well as introduce risk to patient care. Center staff are already trained using the brand equipment in use. The Facility is already familiar with the brand-name products, including the operation, cleaning, care, and troubleshooting of the equipment.
