PROJECT DCFT172004

SOLICITATION/IFB # W91SMC-17-B-0002/REPLACE BOILERS BLDGS P-46 & P-3

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) #1 15 JUN 2017

Q1. Are the prints with this solicitation for this job? Because nothing matches with the SOW.

A1. The attached drawings with the SOW are of the existing setup in Building 46. They depict a single section boiler with a power burner and we would like it removed and replaced with 2 high efficiency boilers as stated in the SOW. There are no useful drawings for Building 3.

Q 2. The boiler in Building 3 is currently steam and being converted to hot water? If yes, then it will need pumps, vents, etc. to change to a hot water system, correct?

A2. Yes. Please see paragraph 5.1 in SOW that states the contractor is responsible for all required components to transition from steam to hot water.

Q3. What are the BTUs for the Building 3 boiler? Need this to size the expansion tank that the SOW is asking for.

A3. Output = 282,000 BTUs. Input = 300,000 BTUs

The existing unit is Raypak XFyre Ninety Plus, Model H7-0300A

Q4. What is the square footage of Building 3? Need this to size the pump if its needed for the conversion to hot water

A4. Building 3 is approximately 3,300 sq ft.

Q5. Will expansion tanks, pumps, air separators need to be changed in Building 46? Or is it just the boilers?

A5. Expansion tanks = yes. Pumps = not required. Air separators = not required.

Q6. Can you provide me the phone number for Alpha Controls?

A6. Jeff Miller: 217-299-1593
