DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS
Description of Requirement Fatigue-Rated Hydraulic Test Actuators
The government requires two (2) Fatigue-Rated Hydraulic Test Actuators that conform to the specifications listed below delivered to the Engineer Research and Development Center, Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (ERDC-CERL), Champaign, Illinois.
a. The Actuators shall exhibit double acting, single-ended motion.
b. The Actuators shall have multi-stage servo-valve control capable of no less than 50 GPM hydraulic fluid flow rate on a 3,000-psi hydraulic system.
c. The Actuators shall have appropriate close-coupled accumulators on the pressure and return sides for the displaced volume of oil at the flow rate and pressure specified in 1.b.
d. The Actuators shall have a maximum load in compression of 200,000 +/- 20,000 lbs. Exact specification of maximum load will be negotiated prior to award.
e. The Actuators shall have a total working stroke of 16 inches.
f. The Actuators shall have fatigue-rated “swivel” bases and rod ends designed specifically for fatigue testing applications. The method of mechanical connection to the test workpiece and to the base shall be a face-to-face flange (Government will connect actuators using bolts or threaded rods and nuts). Exact specifications of end design to be included in the draft design submitted with proposal/offer.
g. The Actuators shall have inline force transducers with maximum reading in line with the capacity specification of 1.d. Exact specification of sensor interrogation method (delta-P, full-bridge, double-bridge, etc.) will be negotiated prior to award.
h. The Actuators shall have appropriate integrated position transducers.
i. The Actuators shall have lifting rings or provision for attachment of lifting eyes, or other means of transport via straps and overhead crane, affixed to the body by threading or welding.
