About this file

This amendment modifies a solicitation for testing of passive floodwalls and stoplog closures along waterways in Indianapolis, Indiana. The scope of work includes testing two sections of passive floodwall systems totaling approximately 677 feet in length. It also involves demolishing and reconstructing the concrete base of an existing 52nd Street stoplog closure with reinforced concrete and a matching seal plate. Additional pipes will be inspected using closed-circuit television. The period of performance is 180 calendar days with a 10-day notice to proceed after award. At the contractor's option, full width concrete pavement removal and replacement may be done in lieu of doweling between new and existing concrete at the 52nd Street location.

SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION 00 10 00 - SOLICITATION

The following have been modified:

SCOPE OF WORK

The scope includes testing of the passive floodwall system manufactured by Floodbreak and constructed in 2019 along Westfield Blvd., demolishing the existing stoplog closure base concrete and replacing with new reinforced concrete with a matching seal plate, and performing CCTV inspections and providing the required documentation on pipes installed in 2018-2019 on the Phase 3B-3 section of the Indy north Flood Risk Management Project.

Period of Performance for the contract is 180 calendar days. NTP shall begin with 10 days of award.

General Description of Base Items

0001 Passive Floodwall Testing: The Passive floodwall is constructed in 2 sections the larger section is roughly 612 feet long and the shorter section is 65 feet long. Each area shall have a bulkhead constructed adjacent to the concrete structure as shown on s-201. Once the bulkhead is secure the contractor shall pump water between the passive gate and bulkhead. Once each gate is fully activated it shall be locked into position and inspected. Water shall be drawn down for inspection and refilled for lowering the gate back into closed position. The contractor shall give a minimum of 1 week notice to the COR for the day of testing for each section.

0002 52nd Street Closure Repair: The 52nd Street Stoplog Closure constructed in 2018-2019 lacks sufficient reinforcement to pass the required full water load calculation in the systems initial periodic inspection. The base for the stop log closure is to be demolished and reconstructed as shown on S-001, S-101, and S-102. The existing sheet pile and adjacent floodwall are not to be disturbed. The contractor shall provide 53rd street detour signage and coordinate the road closure with the COR and City. 52nd street closure shall be minimized to the greatest extent possible. Asphalt and concrete shall be demolished using straight saw cut lines, all areas shall be graded to drain, sidewalks shall be ADA compliant.

***AMENDMENT 0001***

At contractors option: Full width of concrete pavement may be removed and replaced in lieu of installing dowels between new concrete foundation and existing concrete pavement. See 1/S-101 for dowel locations and S-102 for dowel details.
