Contractor Questions Industrial Parts Washer, Solicitation No. W912LP-22-Q-3002
Q1. The request for two-tier turntable and retractable intermediate spray arm would contradict each other. The secondary turntable would have a second set of nozzles installed, but they would be fixed rather than retractable. Will this work for you or you would like it another way? If yes please guide???
A1. Feature is for a retractable intermediate spray bar with jets or swing away spray bar for various parts heights, etc. Deviations from the specifications will have to be identified on the quote.
Q2. I’m not certain what is meant by fork accessible chip basket?. Our chip basket is small enough as to not require a forklift to move. Are you looking for something that is large enough to justify using a forklift rather than simply removing it by hand?
A2. The specification would be for a chip basket with forklift capabilities for heavy duty equipment parts. This would allow for lifting heavy parts with a fork, as needed. Yes, we would require forklift access.
Q3. Want to make sure the end user understands if you have the two tier turntable option then the 48" height you have for working height will basically be reduced to 28".
A3. I believe this makes sense. If I understand, then we would have a 48” working height and 29” load height.
Q4. Specifications call for 220 & 240 volt machines, want to ensure that none of the locations need a 208V machine as that is drastically different.
A4. This is the voltage and phase of power that the machine plugs into from the building. I had each facility send me the specifications for Voltage/phases at these locations
Q5. Do we have to unload it from the truck and place the washer in location?
A5. Each facility does have the capability to assist by unloading with a bobcat or forklift from the truck and emplace in their facility. Caveat, this would take prior planning and coordination to ensure that the facility has the equipment for the specific weight and truck requirements. An example is some facilities do not have loading docks and/or may not have the ability to drive into an enclosed trailer or van.
Contractor Questions Industrial Parts Washer, Solicitation No. W912LP-22-Q-3002 Q6. Is the government dropping & connecting final utilities to the washers (i.e. electric, air, water)?
A6. Building connections are already in place and previously had parts washer installed in location. Vendor is responsible for installation to existing utilities.
Q7. Power supply….we have as a standard 400/230 VAC 50 Hz 3-phase, neutral and ground. Is this OK ?
A7. Facility utility for electrical hook up are included in the product specification. Please ensure to review the electrical specifications to ensure this system will work.
Q8. Is it acceptable to make the machine according to CE-regulations => CE-marked machine ?
A8. Prior to acceptance the products will be reviewed for conformity to ensure standards meet US and Iowa applicable directive, regulation, safety, and environmental standards. Pending verification of declariton of CE conformity and review of standard being met with US and Iowa standards, Then CE marked machines may be accepted.
