Responses to Questions (RFIs), 27 Aug 2019, RFQ: W912LA-19-B-9003
Q1 – Please provide data sheet, system description and drawings for the existing Monaco system that the new fire alarm must integrate with.
A1 – No data sheet available at this time. The current Site is a closed private site with an existing proprietary radio based central station monitoring system (Monaco D‐21).
Q2 - Please provide a detailed scope of what is required for the mass notification system. Please provide drawings and data sheets on the existing mass notification system that the fire alarm must integrate with.
A2 – MAAP‐X addressable system is the version of MNS we will be converting to base wide.
Q3 - During the site survey, we noticed 2 PIV sprinkler shutoff valves outside of the building that are not currently supervised by the fire alarm system. Do they need to be included for proper supervision by the new fire alarm panel at B801, and tied into existing fire panel at B802?
A3 – No they do not need to be supervised by the new panel.
Q4 - During the site survey, we noticed 2 PIV sprinkler shutoff valves outside of the building that are not currently supervised by the fire alarm system. Do they need to be included for proper supervision by the new fire alarm panel at B801, and tied into existing fire panel at B802?
A4 - No they do not need to be supervised by the new panel.
Q5 - In building B801, will the replacement fire alarm system need to provide full ADA audio visual, and additional detection coverage as required, or is it to be proposed as a device for device replacement?
A5 – The replacement Fire Alarm PANEL, will need to be fully capable to provide Mass Notifications, the Panel should be a MAAP‐X addressable system or equivalent.
Q6 - Will heat detectors in hangar for foam system release be permitted to be of the addressable type?
A6 – Heat detectors have not been upgraded as of yet.
Q7 - The SOW clearly states for the replacement of the Foam Release Panel in B801 and the Foam Release and Foam Stop stations in both hangars, but it appears clear that the existing heat and optical detectors are to be re-used, not replaced. Please advise.
A7 – That is correct. All existing detectors are to be reused and connected to the New MNS Panel.
Q8 - The replacement foam release panel is to be addressable and capable of connecting to the Monaco communicator. The SOW mentions as an example: Detronics Eagle Quantum Premier – Is this just an example, or is this the only make and model acceptable for the project?
A8 – The release Panel for Foam, must have the same characteristics as the listed example, and MUST easily integrate with the future Monaco planned upgrade.
