HANGAR 7 DOOR INSTALL RFI’S 2
W912JB-18-B-5000
1. In the solicitation contract form it states that: INSTALL ONE EXTERIOR PERSONNEL DOOR
IN ROOM 123, AND ADD POWER TO TWO HANGAR DOORS IN HANGAR 7. During the walk thru we only looked at the one door, what other door is to be motorized? Or was this a typo?
The Hangar Doors open in opposite directions, one half moves to East pocket and the other moves to the
West pocket. Both doors are to be motorized in the scope of work.
Revised response: The two full door panels on the east are to move. The three door panels to the west are to remain stationary. The two full door panels should move into the east door pocket.
2. Upon looking at the door opener/closer that you want to use, the issue came up that the "pocket" for the door does not appear large enough to allow the drive unit to enter the "pocket" along with the door sections. The limit would need to be set to stop the door before the drive unit hit the wall next to the pocket. Just need to make sure you are aware of this possible issue.
Acknowledged the above statement that accurate quality control is expected to ensure project completion with safety and function as the primary factors.
3. The answer to the questions about the door control, the print does not show a second door pocket?
If the door is divided between panel s 2-3 or 3-4 it will cover the personnel door in the far west panel and does not have a pocket for it to retract into so it will be covering the last panel? Is this what you want? From the walk thru and the prints, the old system appears to have retracted all 5 panels into the recess located on the east end of the door opening.
Response: Refer to RFI 1 revised response.
4. Are you trying to have door be able to be opened from both the east and west side?
Response: No. Refer to RFI 1 revised response.
5. Is the GC responsible for permits? If so, do you have a fee schedule?
Contractor is responsible for all permits per FAR Part 52.236-7. Off base utilities don’t provide fee schedules.
6. Is the participation goal met by Minority/Woman Owned Businesses or is the goal met by minority/female workers performing the work.
Please refer to FAR Clause 52.222-23 of the solicitation. It is the amount of work performed by the specific demographic.
