About this file
This document is a set of Answers to Vendor Questions related to a federal contract opportunity for a Thermomechanical Analyzer. The key details are:
The federal contract opportunity is a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a Thermomechanical Analyzer, with a solicitation number of W912HZ24Q8843. The requirement is a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 334515 with a size standard of 750 employees. Quotes are due by June 12, 2024 at 1:00 PM CST and must be submitted via email. The Government intends to evaluate offers and award without discussions, and will select the technically capable offer with the lowest price.
The vendor questions cover specifics on the required temperature range, hemispherical penetration probe, and whether the MCA70 option is required or just preferred. The Government has provided responses clarifying that the full 1000°C temperature range is required, both a standard sharp penetration probe and a gentler hemispherical probe are needed, and the MCA70 with liquid nitrogen capability is a requirement.

Ques ons about Thermomechanical Analyzer
1. Do you require full temperature range from -50 to 1000? Would you be able to operate at -90 to 600 or 25 to 1100?
We require up to the 1000 C, but would be content with 25 C as a minimum, as long as there is active cooling to return the test chamber to 25 C
Can you be more specific on the hemispherical penetration option? We offer a 1.1mm penetration probe.
The hemispherical penetration probe is in addition to a standard penetration probe, having a less extreme penetration point. We would like both a standard sharp point penetration probe and a gentler penetration probe.
2. On the initial quote, I had the MCA70 included as an option. After reading the description, it seems like the MCA70 now a requirement. Are you able to provide insight if it should be an option or a requirement?
We require the maximum heating range of the MCA70. The requirement of liquid nitrogen to reach sub-ambient temperatures for the MCA70 is satisfactory.
