About this file

This solicitation is for the construction of a high-temperature concrete VTOL pad for F-35B aircraft at MCAS Iwakuni in Japan. The project scope requires constructing the VTOL pad east of Taxiway A and Runway 2-20, near an existing helicopter landing pad. Pavements will include continuously reinforced high-temperature concrete, Portland cement concrete, and enlarged hot-mix asphalt shoulders. Additional work involves new airfield lighting, grading, perimeter roadway modification, and existing utility relocations. Demolition includes an existing helicopter landing pad, drainage infrastructure, and minor utilities. The estimated project magnitude is between 1 and 2.5 billion Japanese yen. The soliciting agency is the Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District Japan.
