W912GY-16-T-0011- Composite Railroad Ties
Q: Can the composite ties be textured?
A: Can be textured or non-textured. Both are fine.
Q: Can the length of the tie be a combo of 9' and 8'-6"? Do the composite tie have a tolerance?
Example: +,-1", 8x10x9' or 6x8x9' A: I don't think it would be wise because they are laid out in such long stretches that the smallest variances in dimensions will offset their process and create more labor hours to work with, they also need to be dimensionally the same size because it could create a potential safety hazard if they are not.
