SPRING VALLEY, WISCONSIN

The Contractor will install new RV pedestals, sub-panel, lighting, and corresponding conductors at Eau Galle Equestrian RV Park located at N1832 Dugan Road, Spring Valley, WI 54767.

1 General

1.1 Project Description

The work at Eau Galle consists of installing 12, 50 Amp RV pedestals, installation of a new sub-panel, and installing lighting and receptacles at the vault toilet. Further information is available in the following sections. The Contractor is responsible for all costs and materials, related to this project. Items include, but are not limited to, cable, panels, pedestals, circuit breakers, lighting, installation hardware, labor, and permitting cost. A site visit is recommended and can be arrange with the POC; Brad LaBadie. The pedestal locations for each site will be marked by the Eau Galle staff prior to the site visit.

1.1.1 Campsites

There are 10 existing campsites, with campsites 3 and 4 being double RV sites that each have two pedestals. The pedestals will be supplied power from the main panel located in the well house.

Circuit arrangements and sizes are shown in figure 2.

All new circuits will be supplied by the existing well house panel. The well house panel is a 400 Amp, 3-wire, 42 space, Square D NQOD4 panelboard. The manufacturer recommended circuit breakers are Square D type LA, LH, and Q4. Other brand/type circuit breakers may be UL listed for the panel and it is the contractor’s responsibility to determine what circuit breakers are used.

Figure 2. Well House Panel Schedule.

All buried conductors must be aluminum type USE with XLPE insulation meeting the requirements of section 2.2.1. The conductors can be installed via trenching, directional boring, or a combination of trenching and directional boring.

1.1.2 Vault Toilet

A 100 Amp subpanel will be installed at the existing vault toilet as indicated in figure 3. The panel schedule for the subpanel is attached to this document. The subpanel must be outdoor rated NEMA 3R, placed inside a larger NEMA 4 steel enclosure. The outer NEMA 4 enclosure must have a drip shield and locking handle or hasp. A rigid galvanized conduit stub and bushing will be used to protect the conductor from damage in accordance with NFPA 70, 305(D).

Three GFCI receptacles will be installed, one in each restroom and one on the exterior of the building with the exterior receptacle being on its own circuit. The exterior receptacle will include a while-in-use weather cover and must be mounted 48 inches above the ground. Surface mounted wall lights will be installed in each restroom and an outdoor wall pack, with photocell, will be installed on the exterior of the building.

All Conduits run outdoors must be galvanized rigid type with weather tight hubs. All conduits inside the vault toilet must be surface mounted EMT, surface mounted Schedule 40 PVC, or Schedule 80 PVC.

A grounding electrode must be installed according to NFPA 70.

3.3 Field Fabricated Nameplate

Provide number, location, and letter designation of nameplates as indicated

3.4 Field Quality Control

After completion of the installation and splicing, and prior to energizing the conductors, perform wire and cable continuity and insulation tests as herein specified before the conductors are energized.

Provide all necessary test equipment, labor, and personnel to perform the tests, as herein specified.

Isolate completely all wire and cable from all extraneous electrical connections at cable terminations and joints. Use substation and switchboard feeder breakers, disconnects in combination motor starters, circuit breakers in panel boards, and other disconnecting devices to isolate the circuits under test.

Perform insulation-resistance test on each field-installed conductor with respect to ground and adjacent conductors. Applied potential is 500 volts dc for 300 volt rated cable and 1000 volts dc for 600 volt rated cable. Take readings after 1 minute and until the reading is constant for 15 seconds. Minimum insulation-resistance values is not less than 25 Megohms for 300 volt rated cable and 100 Megohms for 600 volt rated cable. For circuits with conductor sizes AWG No. 8 and smaller insulation resistance testing is not required.

Perform continuity test to insure correct cable connection end-to-end (i.e., correct phase conductor, grounded conductor, and grounding conductor wiring). Repair and verify any damages to existing or new electrical equipment resulting from mis-wiring. Receive approval for all repairs prior to commencement of the repair.

Perform ground-fault receptacle test for ground-fault receptacles with a "load" (such as a plug-in light) to verify that the "line" and "load" leads are not reversed.

Submit test reports in accordance with referenced standards in this section.

Final acceptance requires the successful performance of wire and cable under test. Do not energize any conductor until the final test reports are reviewed and approved.
