QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q1: Is actual physical pickup needed or can the pieces be shipped?

A1: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) can ship the pieces at the Contractor’s expense.

Q2: Delivery only, no installation?

A2: Correct

Q3: The captions mentioned on the bottom of each pic, is this something we would print and attach?

A3: USACE will provide printed / cut to size captions with photo prints.

Q4: UV glass, this is museum glass or simply glass with a UV property?

A4: Regular glass with a non-specific UV level, museum quality not required.

Q5: What is the duration of the contract?

A5: Two years

Q6: Can I assume it is fixed price?

A6: Fixed priced (apart from the individually negotiated orders for line 19 items).

Q7: Are pieces mounted?

A7: Mounting is not required.

Q8: Is the mat regular or achival?

A8: Minimum should be acid free, archival is not required.

Q9: You requested a choice of three styles of black frames. Will the award be based on selecting one style or will all three styles have the potential to be ordered?

A9: Orders will be a mix of all three styles.

Q10: Does it have to be a black frame?

A10: Yes

Q11: Do you want glass or plexiglass?

A11: Glass

Q12: We can provide a service to print documents, is this a benefit?

A12: USACE will provide the prints

Q13: Can we bulk ship the final framed items or individually mail to addresses?

A13: Frames will be shipped to one address. Contractor is responsible for shipping expenses to and from location and proper packaging so the glass and frames do not break in transit. The contractor can either bulk ship or individually mail the end product.

Q14: Will the pieces be loose?

A14: No, USACE will package photo prints so that they are not damaged in transit.

Q15: Can we count on most orders to be at least 10 pieces at a time? This would help to reduce shipping costs.

A15: Yes

Q16: Are all of the items to be framed photographs?

A16: Yes, some will be architectural type drawings, but still photo prints.

Q17: You asked for 3 frames, we have frames similar to the one you pictured in different sizes.

A17: USACE wants 3 differently styled black frames in 3 different sizes.

Q18: The artwork sizes specified in the scope of work are 16”x20”, 11”x14”, and 18”x24”. Do these sizes specify the size of the print, glass size, or the overall frame size?

A18: The sizes listed are the size of the photo print.

Q19: The scope of work states each frame should be wrapped for delivery. Do you need it in a shipping box for reshipping or just for safe delivery and storage? Are there specific packaging specifications?

A19: Packaging needs to provide safe delivery and storage. There are no specific packaging specifications other than those included in the scope of work.

Q20: The scope of work states “weighted” white mat. We assume “bottom weighted”, is there a specification of the magnitude of weight? Has a matboard been selected or any specific category of mat type?

A20: Yes, bottom weighted to account for the captions for each print. There is no specification of weight. No matboard has been selected. The captions need to be appropriately incorporated at the bottom of each frame’s print.

Q21: Will artwork be provided prior to assembly or will your staff insert the artwork post delivery?

A21: Artwork will be provided prior to assembly.

Q22: Is hanging hardware wire, sawtooth, security system, D-ring, or cleat?

A22: Not specified in the scope of work, however sawtooth would be easiest to install.

Q23: Is white mat required for all frames?

A23: Yes

Q24: Are all frames closed up on the back with craft paper and hanging hardware?

A24: Yes

Q25: Captions to be inserted that are printed on white card stock. Is that card stock to be used in the framing or are we to print plaques?

A25: The cardstock is to be used in the framing.
