AMENDMENT 4 SUMMARY OF CHANGES

The purpose of this amendment is to answer the following vendor questions:

Question 1 (Q1): Why are you switching from cast iron gates to stainless steel?

Answer 1 (A1): Because we can expect a longer service life from stainless steel and there is no need to maintain a paint system.

Q2: Has the end user considered the extent of work that will need to be done to replace the current anchors? There isn't any room in between the gates to bypass the current anchors and/or working with the concrete is not an option because of the lack of room available. Does the end user have a solution for this?

A2: Government employees will perform the removal of the existing gates and the installation of the new gates.

The Government plans to remove the existing anchors flush with the surface of the concrete and install new holes to accommodate epoxy anchors based on the hole spacing in the new guides.

Q3: Regarding the Sluice Gate solicitation, we are inquiring if you have door details prints and specs, build material list, any additional prints in the print pack. Also regarding the existing gates, can you say who received the award in 1974?

A3: No we do not have door detail prints and specs, nor a build material list or any additional prints from the print pack to include in this solicitation; we do not have the specification or the shop drawings from the 1974 gate replacement project. Please quote as specified. If we knew who received the contract award for the existing gates in 1974 we would provide that information. However, we do not know who the awardee was in 1974.

All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
