Cherry Creek Dewatering Contract 19-Q-0090 Pre-Bid Site Visit Contractor Questions

Q: For construction access, will Contractor temporarily remove the fence between the CDOT Path and Stilling Basin?

A:Yes, will temporarily remove the fence as part of the contract and Contractor must be replace the fence in the same condition when work is complete.

Q: Will we be repairing the baffles?

A: No, baffles will not be repaired as part of this contract. Possibly as part of another USACE contract.

Q: Sediment removed from the Stilling Basin deposited on site?

A: Yes. If needed, sediment removed from the Stilling Basin will be moved by the Contractor to approximately 200 feet east of the stilling basin on USACE Property. USACE COR or Representative will identify exact location.

Q: How should the Contractor video the Stilling Basin drains?

A: Process to video the drains will be up to the Contractor

Q: Can Contractor access the stilling basin on the left/West side to install the sandbags for the cofferdam?

A: No, when installing cofferdam sandbags, Contractor will need to access the Right/East edge of the Stilling Basin between the Stilling Basin and CDOT Path.

Q: Do we have to remove the fish?

A: Yes, the Contractor will remove fish from the Stilling Basin into a waiting Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) tank truck under the supervision of the CPW.

Q: Are we repairing the baffles?

A: No, baffles will not be repaired as part of this contract. Possibly as part of another USACE contract.

Q: Where do we start and stop power washing?

A: Contractor power washing of concrete structures will be from the tunnel security gates downstream to the last concrete weir.

Q: Who was the last Contractor to dewater the stilling basin?

A: American West, Inc. in 2009.

Q: Who is doing the inspection?

A: Engineering team from the USACE District Office in Omaha.

Q: How do we keep water out for inspection?

A: Process to keep water out of the inspection area during the inspection is up to the Contractor.
