SUBMITTED QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES AFTER BIDDER INQUERIES CLOSEURE

**The following information is for reference purposes only. All bids shall be based on the information in the solicitation and amendments only**

Question 1. With regard to the submerged cable crossing area shown on Drawing 4 of 4, does the Government have any information or cross sections available showing the depth of the cables? Can spuds be used in the area?

Response 1. The Government has the 2005 and a 2009 contract drawings that indicates the depth of a utility as "6 PRESSURE MAIN PIPE MIN -45 MLLW". In recent years this information has come off the drawings. Post dredge surveys have shown that project depth of -37 feet MLLW can be achieved in this area. The equipment to accomplish the work shall be a contractor decision.

Paragraph 3.3.1 of Section 01 22 00.00 82 states that “Work areas will be accepted based on multi-beam or single-beam Government hydrographic survey data processed using a median depth sort with a 30-foot by 30-foot Matrix.” Paragraph 3.3.2 of the same Section states that “Sounding depths used for determination of pay quantity volumes will generally be derived from multi-beam acoustic methods or 200 kHz single-beam…” In Attachment A10, issued with Amendment 01, the Survey Acceptance Criteria states that “Acceptance will be based on multi-beam survey data processed using a median sort with a 15x15 foot matrix.”

Question 2a. So that Contractors may have the appropriate equipment onsite to confirm progress with survey, can the Government confirm whether multi-beam or single-beam survey will be used for Government survey acceptance?

Response 2a. It is the Government's intention to use multi-beam surveys for all pre and post dredge surveys for this contract. However, the Government may use other means to accomplish the pre and post dredge surveys.

Question 2b. Will acceptance be based on a median sort with a 30 x 30 foot matrix as stated in Section 01 22 00.00 82 or a median sort with a 15x15 foot matrix as stated in Attachment A10?

Response 2b. Amendment 2 is posted to FBO.gov to change Attachment A10 so that the language will read "Acceptance will be based on multi-beam survey data processed using a median sort with a 30x30 foot matrix."
