KEY:
Consolidated Contractor’s Questions (Q#)
Government official answer (A#)
Q1: Is this job a “Mill & Slope or Remove & Replace” for asphalt?
A1: Remove and replace.
Q2: What are the specific job dimensions?
A2: 25’ Wide and 350’ in length.
Q3: Is it the contractor’s responsibility for road closure, re-routing traffic along with traffic control plan (TCP)? Furthermore, if it is the contractor’s responsibility, how is this truly going to be coordinated at Fort Bragg?
A3: Project is required to have a sealed traffic detour plan, per the Fort Bragg IDQ policy. Closing off from plank and preacher roads.
Q4: Is there going to be a specific distance for how far the “erosion control measures” the contractor is responsible for from the end of the asphalt on sides of road? If not how will we know how far to go?
A4: To the ditch, front slope.
Q5: If unsuitable subgrade is discovered, how will this cost be reinvested? Will there be a separate clin to bid for “just in case” this situation arises?
A5: Identify out of scope work, gain approval from Contract Officer; a modification to the contract will be required (as needed) in order to authorize additional costs. There will not be a separate CLIN for “just in case situations”.
Q6: How deep must “we go” for the Aggregated Base Course (ABC) for the 2ft of shoulder work required for along the sides?
A6: Work to excavate to stabilization depth, 2’ wide, with the same pavement structure.
Q7: Is there going to be a change to the amount of time allowed for this job? (Currently states 38 days after Notice to proceed) A7: 60 calendar days.
Q8: Can we use existing, if able, or do we have to use new Aggregated Base Course (ABC) for job?
A8: New.
Q9: Is the Fort Bragg land fill able to be used in the event it is required?
A9: Asphalt will be accepted at the DPW’s landfill, as long as it is cleaned out from dirt. Dirt and any other debris will go to an off post certified facility.
Q10: Are there going to be drawings provided for ditches or do we just use the existing slope/ ditches?
A10: Existing slope ditches.
Q11: What are the back fill standards now for NC Department of Transportation, have they changed?
A11: Follow NCDOT standards as they have not changed.
