W91242-19-B-5001 Q&A #1 Alter Fire Protection Waterlines

1. Question: Regarding the pump pad (A4/S301) – The note indicates the pump pad is to be poured monolithically with the slab. Due to the difficulties of suspending and maintaining alignment of the forms for a monolithic slab and pad, would it be allowable for the pad to be formed and placed after the slab? Typically, for pads like this, the slab surface (bottom) of pad) would be left rough to achieve appropriate bonding.

Answer: Yes, there would have to be some rebar bonding between the slab and pad as well.

2. Question: Asphalt Patch Detail b/C640 – The detail indicates a 9” assumed asphalt thickness.

Should we assume 6” asphalt base + 3” surface for pricing purposes?

Answer: Yes

3. Question: 2/A102 – the detail indicates 5/8” gyp protection board at the eave. The only attachment for the gyp board would the ends of the steel trusses. The detail does not appear adequate.

Answer: There are roof trusses per Detail 7 on A-101 with the hat channels on 24” spacing as mentioned on A102 running perpendicular to the trusses. The sheetrock will be attached to the hat channels.

4. Question: 1/A102 – the detail indicates some lt. ga. framing above the block at the rake. The same condition (D6/S301) indicates the roof deck directly on the block. Please clarify the requirement.

Answer: Disregard the framing from A102, the structural drawing is correct (S301)

5. Question: The site is small. Will some adjacent space be allowed/provided for construction lay down/storage?

Answer: Yes
