Questions and Responses to Solicitation No. W91237-16-B-0003 Miter Gate Installation for Meldahl Locks and Dam, Felicity, OH

Q9) When we did some water depth surveying the other day, we determined that there are areas on the upstream side of the lock that are outside of the Limited Work Limits that we will likely have to access that are not as deep as we would need.

Q9a) Will it be permissible for the contractor to dredge those areas?

A9a) Depending on the location, subject to the approval of the KO, dredging may be authorized.

All necessary permits shall be obtained by the Contractor.

Q9b) Where could the dredge material be placed?

A9b) Depending on the origin and quantity of the dredge material, the Government may be able to provide a disposal area. Actual location of the disposal is subject to the terms of the permits obtained by the Contractor.

Q9c) Or will the US Army Corps of Engineers dredge the areas we request prior to our arrival at the site?

A9c) No.
