W911YU-16-T-1003: SOLID WASTE MGMT SVC Q&A
March 28, 2016
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Q1. Is there a discrepancy between scope of work per “Description of Services” , page one
Appendix A and Summary of Services on page one Appendix B, Obverall requirement? Page one of attached file (from Appendix A) is calling for servicing total of
10 each x 6 CY bins for regular trash and 9 each x 6 CY bins for recyclables.
Page two of attached file (from Appendix B) is calling for:
10 each x 6CY for regular waste 1 each x 3 CY for regular waste 9 each x 6 CY for recyclables 1 each x 3 CY for recyclables 1 each x 6CY for regular waste--Unscheduled 1 each x 3 CY for regular waste—Unscheduled
A1. Please note that appendix A, which calls for 19 bins total (10 solid waste & 9 recyclables) is our estimated requirement as of the date the solicitation was posted. Appendix B, which calls for the pricing of various items above and beyond what's listed in appendix A is due to the fact that the Government, at any time during the course of the contract, may change its requirements due to the volume of waste/recyclables generated by our installation. Basically, we price as much as possible upfront in order to eliminate the need to negotiate pricing later on in the contract should an adjustment in the service be necessary.
For example, our current requirement is for 6-cy containers but we are also requiring pricing for 3-cy containers, should the need arise to reduce or increase capacity. Same can be said for unscheduled services, we may not have any unscheduled services rendered, however, should the need arise, we would have pricing data available.
Q2. Also please clarify that term “General Waste” refers to Regular Municipal Solid Waste.
A2. General waste equates to “regular solid waste.”
