AMENDMENT 0001

For Solicitation No. W911XK-14-B-0018 FY14 Menomonee River Ecosystem Restoration, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

CHANGES TO SPECIFICATIONS

SECTION 31 00 00 EARTHWORK is NOT being re-issued as part of this amendment.

DELETE Preliminary Excavated Materials Management Plan and Preliminary Concrete Lining Removal Plan Paragraph 3.2.3.

ADD Paragraph 3.2.3:

Soils identified for potential landfilling will be stockpiled temporarily on an impervious surface such as pavement or reinforced plastic, and must be securely covered at all times. The storage area will be diked. If any liquid drains from the stockpile or if precipitation comes into contact with the contaminated sediments, the potentially contaminated water must be collected, tested, and properly disposed of. After sample results are received, the Government on-site representative will designate the soils for licensed landfill disposal or inclusion at an approved site.

Potentially landfill soils may be stored without a license for up to six months if the volume is less than 2,500 CY. Longer storage or larger volumes require a WDNR solid waste storage license or a variance from WDNR. The stockpile must meet the requirements of NR 718.05 Wisconsin Administrative Code.

Use the following address for licensed landfill disposal:

W124 S10629 S. 124th St.

Muskego, WI 53150

Water drained from the stockpiles separated for potential landfilling shall be isolated using BMPs and contained in a sump, or other confining area where the water will be sampled by the MMSD and tested by an analytical laboratory for the presence of VOCs and PAHs. Disposal of the dewatered liquid will be dependent upon the analytical results.

Management of settled solids from the dewatering liquid will be based on laboratory analyses.
