W911SG24B0001 B1788 Repair Emergency Door

RFIs and Answers

1) Are we reusing the existing pull down station or are we providing a new one since the one there is fully operational?

Clarification: The existing pull station located by the emergency door to be removed will remain in place, buy keyed note #7 also calls for a new fire alarm pull station to be located next to the new door opening. See Drawings Sheet 04.

2) Once we cancel the door and we just closely match existing tiles since the existing ones are no longer available?

Answer: No tires are required after the area is repaired, only paint.

3) Can you specify the square footage for the painting of the exterior walls?

Answer: Approximately 950 square feet of CMU wall space.

4) Are we going to have to wait for the modification if the testing for asbestos and lead comes back negative or we will continue working while waiting for the modification?

Answer: If the test comes out negative for asbestos, the contractor will not have to wait for the modification to continue working. The modification will be provided at a later time shortly after notifying COR and MICC about the negative results.

5) Can we mix concrete bags on site or are you required to bring it from the plant which they have a minimum of 5 CY? If you allow the bags , do you want 4000 PSI as per plans or

5000 PSI since bags are being used.

Answer: The concrete will be mixed at the plant, even if it is a low load to be delivered.
