16. REMARKS

The contractor shall provide (1) copy of equipment installation instructions or considerations (Installation and Preparation Documentation) in paper format, with exception the footprint/and schematics file which shall be electronic (.pdf format or autocad). The contractor shall provide a second copy of this information in paper format at the time of delivery of the equipment.

The Installation and Preparation information should include Installation and Documentation Inventory List, a footprint drawing of the machine, an electrical schematic and an air schematic. Utility information should denote minimum feed requirements to be provided by Rock Island Arsenal. Acceptable electronic formats include acrobat files (.pdf), drawing exchange files (.dxf), and initial graphic exchange specification (.igs). Locations of the first point of connection for all required utility/power sources shall be shown and dimensioned. Finally, shipping information shall be provided listing the machine components, and approximate gross weight of each separate component.

16. REMARKS

The contractor shall provide (3) copies of the Operator/Service manual with delivery of the equipment, or system. Of these, (2) will be paper, and (1) shall be electronic. Acceptable electronic formats include acrobat files (.pdf), drawing exchange files (.dxf), and initial graphic exchange specification (.igs). The manual shall include the following minimum information, procedures and drawings.

1. Safety Lockout Procedure: Written procedure shall be provided detailing procedures to deactivate the equipment brfore beginning repair activities on the equipment.

2. Preventative Maintenance Procedures: This section of the documentation shall include:

Daily Operator Checklist, Visual Inspections, and a Lubrication Schedule of the equipment provided. Procedures and schedules for inspections, adjustments, cleaning, and component replacements.

3. Lubrication: This will include a drawing and detailed instructions and procedures. The drawing will depict the location of each lubrication point and indicate the type, viscosity, frequency, approximate quantity of the lubricant to be used. All lubrication documentation shall be referenced to this drawing.

4. Replacement Component List: This list shall contain every replaceable component in the equipment. It shall include appropriate identification and ordering data including, but not limited to, the contractor, vendor and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part names and numbers. Enough information shall be included to allow ordering of the component from the contractor, vendor, or OEM.

A combination Maintenance and Operator’s manual is acceptable, as long as the combined manual contains information required for each.

16. REMARKS

The contractor shall provide (3) copies of this all schematics with machine delivery. Of these, (2) will be paper, and (1) shall be electronic.

Acceptable electronic formats include acrobat files (.pdf), drawing exchange files (.dxf), and initial graphic exchange specification (.igs).

The operator’s manual shall include instructions on safe, everyday machine operation. It shall include safety considerations (such as emergency stops, or disconnect locations, operational pinch points, heavy wear areas, warning signs or indicators, etc). The document shall address manual versus automatic modes, timers, and all machine process variables. It shall detail part material considerations, machine speed, feed rate variables, and detail safe operating ranges for those various machine control inputs. The operator’s manual may be included with the maintenance manual, as long as the information required by both manuals are addressed in the combined document.
