Distribution Statement D:- Distribution authorized to Department of Defense and U.S. DoD contractors only to protect critical technology effective as of 26 June 2014. Other requests for this document must be referred to U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center, ATTN: RDMR -AEM , Corpus Christi, TX 78419-5211

REPLACE paragraph 3-3.1 thru 3-3.4 headings and subparagraphs as shown on page 2 and 3 of this MEO.

Add Table 3-0 found on page 4 of this MEO, prior to paragraph 3-3.3.

Continuation Sheet

3-3.1. DOD IUID REGISTRY QUERY. The DoD IUID Registry and/or TAMMS-A/MCDS, UID database shall be queried to determine if the component has a registered UII.

NOTE

Do not remove IUID data plates unless necessitated by damage, maintenance requirements or determination that the item does not meet the criteria below.

NOTE

If the Dual Fuel Flow Power Supply arrives with an IUID data plates other than what is depicted in Figure 1-3 or 1-3.1, contact cognizant AMRDEC engineering or contracting officer representative (COR) for replacement instructions.

a. If 2-D data matrices are present, use a handheld data matrix reader (item 18, Table 2-1) to scan the 2-D data matrices for the presence of an UII. If a scan of a 2-D data matrix provides a UII, proceed to paragraph 3-3.1.d and/or 3-3.1.e. If the scan of the 2-D data matrices are not successful (unreadable or does not provide a UII) after two attempts, proceed to paragraph 3-3.1.b.

WARNING

ISOPROPLY ALCOHOL TT-I-735

Isopropyl alcohol is flammable and toxic to eyes, skin, and respiratory tract. Wear protective gloves and goggles/face shield. Avoid repeated or prolonged contact. Use only in well ventilated areas (or use approved respirator as determined by local safety/industrial hygiene personnel). Keep away from open flames, sparks, or other sources of ignition.

b. Clean the 2-D data matrices with a cloth (item 8, App C) moistened with isopropyl alcohol (Item 4, App C) and scan again. If the third scan is successful (provides a UII), proceed to paragraph 3-3.1.d.(1) and/or 3-3.1.e.(1). If the third scan is not successful (still unreadable or does not provide a UII), use the HRI to query the DoD IUID Registry (paragraph 3-3.1.d.(2)) and/or TAMMS-A/MCDS, UID database (paragraph 3-3.1.e.(2)).

c. If neither OPM IUID label(s) or IUID data plates are present (only an original identification data plate), query the DoD IUID Registry IAW paragraph 3-3.1.d.(2) and/or TAMMS-A/MCDS, UID database paragraph

3-3.1.e.(2) below.

d. Query the DoD IUID Registry via the WAWF (App A, Websites) as follows:

(1) DoD IUID Registry home page, select “Queries”, then “Single Item Query.” Scan or place the recorded

UII data into the “UII*” field. If the query returns a record, proceed to paragraph 3-3.1.f. If the query does not return a record proceed to 3-3.1.d.(2) below.

(2) Using the human readable manufacturer serial number on the component (indicated by Serial No., Ser

No., S/N, SN, SER, (S), SEQ, etc.), query the DoD IUID Registry. Select “Queries,” then “Pedigree Query.” Place the human readable manufacturer serial number in the “Serial Number” field. The query may return multiple records. Use the additional data from the component (component description, part number, etc.) to determine if one of the registry records can be matched to the component. If a registry record's data matches the component data exactly, proceed to paragraph 3-3.1.f. If no registry record can be matched exactly to the component data, proceed to paragraph 3-3.1.d.(3) below.

(3) Using the human readable manufacturer serial number on the component (indicated by Serial No., Ser No., S/N, SN, SER, (S), SEQ, etc.), query the DoD IUID Registry. Select “Queries,” then “Mark Query.”

Place “SERIAL NUMBER” in the “Mark Content” field and place the human readable manufacturer serial number (as visible on component, minus any spaces) in the “Mark Value” field. The query may return multiple records. Use the additional data from the component (component description, part number, etc.) to determine if one of the registry records can be matched to the component. If a registry record's data matches the component data exactly, proceed to paragraph 3-3.1.f. If no registry record can be matched exactly to the component data, (i.e., did not have a registered UII), IUID data plates shall be fabricated IAW paragraph 1-9.e.

e. Query the TAMMS-A/MCDS, UID database (App A, Websites) as follows:

(1) TAMMS-A/MCDS home page, select “Apps”, then “UID” from the drop down menu. Scan or place the recorded UII data into the “UII” field. If the query returns a record, proceed to paragraph 3-3.1.f. If the query does not return a record proceed to 3-3.1.e.(2) below.

(2) Using the human readable manufacturer serial number on the component (indicated by Serial No., Ser No., S/N, SN, SER, (S), SEQ, etc.) query the TAMMS-A/MCDS, UID database by placing the serial number in the “SER” field. The query may return multiple records. Use the additional data from the component (component description, part number, etc.) to determine if one of the database records can be matched to the component. If a database record matches the component data exactly, proceed to paragraph 3-3.1.f. If no database record can be matched exactly to the component data, (i.e., did not have a registered UII), IUID data plates shall be fabricated IAW paragraph 1-9.e.

f. Record Data.

(1) Ensure the data in the DoD IUID Registry and/or TAMMS-A/MCDS, UID database record matches the component data (resident on the Dual Fuel Flow Power Supply or within its accompanying historical records). If all data matches, record all pertinent component data (UII Data Elements, Boeing PN, Manufacturer PN (if applicable), and all other data on the component and/or in the registry record), as needed for IUID data plates replacement. If applicable, remove the OPM IUID label(s). (Note: The label

(s) may be retained with the component as reference only). It is necessary that all recorded data be matched to the same end item, assembly, or component on which they were found during PSA. Refer to paragraph 1-9.e for IUID data plate fabrication.

(2) If the data in the DoD IUID Registry and/or TAMMS-A/MCDS, UID database record does not match the component data, refer to paragraph 1-9.e for IUID data plate's fabrication. If applicable, remove the OPM IUID label.

3-3.2. IUID LIFECYCLE EVENT (LCE). A life cycle event specific to UID compliance is any change to the permanent status of an item i.e., lost, stolen, destroyed…, that the DOD Guide to Uniquely Identifying Items requires be reported to the DOD IUID registry. If applicable, report to the DoD IUID Registry via the WAWF (Appx A, Websites) or TAMMS-A/MCDS, UID database at https://tamms-a.redstone.army.mil, the item's change of permanent status if one of the life cycle events listed in Table 3-0 occur.

3-3.3. IUID PARENT CHILD RELATIONSHIP. A parent item is an assembly, intermediate component or subassembly that has an embedded item with an UII or DoD recognized UII equivalent. If applicable, upon completion of the M&O event, report component parent child relationship updates to the DoD IUID Registry via the WAWF (Appx A, Websites) or TAMMS-A/MCDS, UID database at https://tamms-a.redstone.army.mil.

3-3.4. PART NUMBER CONFIGURATION CHANGE. If required, upon completion of the M&O event, the component part number configuration changes (part number roll/dash number change) that would require an addition or update to the PNR or 30P (current part number), the configuration change shall be reported to the DoD IUID Registry via the WAWF (Appx A, Websites) or TAMMS-A/MCDS, UID database at https://tamms-a.redstone.army.mil.
