Moving instructions on G-005 and G-006, it notes a Mahr L 8375.
The manufacturer is unfamiliar with this item and needs clarification either with a photo or additional model information.
This item has been clarified with the original manufacturer. See serial numbers provided above.
Moving instructions for the Mahr equipment appears to note (3) Mahr 828 CiM and (2) Mahr 130B-24. The list of equipment does not indicate duplicates of these items. Can you confirm that there is only one of each?
The quantities of these items as indicated in the note is correct. Equipment list on sheet G-006 has been updated.
Request additional Site Visit. Additional Site Visit is not authorized.
Please confirm personnel requirements for this project. Can (1) superintendent fulfill SSHO and QC requirements? Or does (1) superintendent, (1) QC and (1) SSHO need to be on site full-time?
The Superintendent can perform the duties of both the QC and the SSHO.
See the following specification sections.
01 35 26 Government Safety Requirements

21R5008 -- TMDE Lab -- Contractor Q & A
Does prime contractor need to hire 23 09 23 controls? Does prime contractor have to hire third-party DIV 25 integration contractors?
The DDC Controls are part of this project. We do not indicate that the Controls Subcontractor be hired by the Prime Contractor or the Mechanical Subcontractor. Either is acceptable. If the Controls Subcontractor is Entec then, a separate subcontractor is not required to perform the Div 25 integration.
23 09 23
Please confirm work hours for this project. Are there any specific tasks or trade division that must be on overtime (01 Infection Control, 02 Demolition, 02 Abatement)? Are there any areas of work that must be on overtime (Hallways, Occupied Areas, Etc.)?
See general note 21 on sheet G-003. Utilizing overtime or hours outside of normal working times is solely based upon the contractor's discresion, but is not a government requirement for this contract. The Government will make an honest effort to support working times outside of normal working hours.
No asbestos is noted in the plans. Are we to assume the only abatement will involve the lead paint on the corners/bases of the 27 posts? Is an asbestos report available?
No asbestos was identified in this project for removal. Please see provided asbestos report. The lead based paint is the only hazardous material identified in this project.

Please confirm who has roofing warranty, and provide point of contact for the facility.
The current roof is not under warranty. See existing roof instructions on Sheet G-004. 07 - Roofing
S-101
Is there a proprietary DIV23 controls contractor at the facility? If so, please provide company and point of contact.
The majority of the HVAC Control Systems in place on the RIA are Delta. However this is not a requirement. Delta is currently represented by Entec out of Springfield, IL.
Is there a proprietary DIV28 Fire Alarm contractor at the facility? If so, please provide company and point of contact.
The Fire Alarm System on the RIA is Simplex. We do not have a contact for Simplex.
Please confirm if contract has material staging location at facility.
If so, where is it? Is prime contractor responsible for any costs associated with staging?
There are several staging areas on the installation. The contractor may also stage materials within Room 3 of Bldg 332 as space allows. See sheet G-005 for information
Should we interpret G-004 “Specifications and Sheet Notes” as the full extent of the specifications for each section? Many are not included in the main spec book (i.e., Doors, frames, hardware, all finishes other than painting, etc.) If so, please provide exact specifications for each.
Yes with exceptions. Painting and Sealants have specifications in addition to G-004. G-004
Are there any phasing constraints for this project? No.
Is the prime contractor responsible for Submittal Exchange and associated costs?
Yes.
Can you please General Note 31 on G-003 concerning the requirement to move the dumpster(s) each day away from the building?
This is a force protection measure per local anti-terrorism and UFC 4-010-01 requirements. The contractor will be allowed to keep a dumpster permanently placed in the parking lot north of Building 332 for the duration of project. If the contractor wants to move the dumpster closer to the building, such as under the dock near the doors, then all the force protection/anti-terrorism requirements must be met.
G-003
Can you please provide cut sheets or specific information for this equipment to be moved? Specifically, Length, Width, Height, and Weight of the specialized equipment to be moved. There are significant cost implications for trucking, temporarily storing, etc.
for this type of equipment and we want to ensure we understand the intent.
Make and Model numbers of specific equipment requiring additional handling and care has been provided. We will also provide serial numbers for OGP and Mahr equipment to be moved. The contractor is responsible for contacting original equipment manufacturers for additional information and costs to move equipment. The dimensions and weights of the remaining equipment to be moved is sufficient for bidding purposes.
G-005/ G-006
Does the prime contractor owe structural engineer support/drawings for the structural support beam and portion of structural support wall? If so, is an engineering stamp required?
No. A-101
Is there a garage-type or roll-up type door at BLDG 332 to move equipment in once it’s moved? Drawings cut off the West side and it cannot be determined.
Yes. A-101
Please clarify the Scope of Work for the prime contractor relating to Division 25 and Cybersecurity. There is a specification section on this project, however there is no scope indicated on the drawings.
The new DDC Control system needs to be integrated with the existing Delta System. Div 25 also clarifies some of the Commissioning requirements.
Division 25
Does the prime contractor owe any protective barriers in the workspace for dust control (especially given the vestibule work at the storefront)? Please advise.
This is covered by Specification 02 41 00 Demolition Section 1.3.1 Existing Construction Limits and Protection. Do not disturb existing construction beyond the extent indicated or necessary for installation of new construction. Provide temporary shoring and bracing for support of building components to prevent settlement or other movement. Provide protective measures to control accumulation and migration of dust and dirt in all work areas. Remove snow, dust, dirt, and debris from work areas daily.
02 41 00 Demolition
Will the fire protection contractor need to have our drawings stamped by FPE?
Yes.
Will we need our FPE to make a site visit to sign off? Yes.
Hot Water Unit Heater: The scheduled CFM is twice the cataloged value for the model # listed. Other performance appears in line with the Model #. Please clarify.
The model number quoted by the supplier is S-A36. The model number from the schedule is S-36. The CFM listed in the schedule should be 550 not 1550.
Hot Water Unit Heater: Trane does not offer a BACnet tstat for this product. Can this T-Stat be provided by the DDC contractor?
The BACnet thermostat can be provided by the DDC Controls subcontractor. This will need to be coordinated with the bidders.
Fan Powered VAV Boxes: ESP is not scheduled. External static pressure (ESP) shall be 0.25 in WC in all cases.
Schedule note request a Max NC of 35. The boxes with HW heat have a NC of 42. Sound is driven by the fan. Increasing the size of the valve does not reduce sound.
Up to an NC level of 45 will be acceptable.
Four (4) are shown on M002 and M003 but there isn’t a schedule. This fintube is existing. There is no new fintube.
Are minimum shipping splits required to help fit into the space? In our opinion, no, because this is a new space. However this needs to be coordinated with the contractor during bidding.
The door handles on the AHU are not operable from inside the cabinet.
It is acceptable to have the doors operate only from the outside.
